Waiting for a cure?

Everyone has probably heard the story of the impoverished family who has no idea that the treasure or the wish-fulfilling jewel that they need has actually always been hidden in their own home. This is a lesson in seeking inner knowledge that we already possess. It just needs to be uncovered.

How often do we now read that we need to follow the shelter in place orders (house arrest) until scientists discover a cure and a vaccine for the current virus? But all this time, effective treatment for viruses is already in our possession.

Chinese medicine has been effectively treating these viruses and epidemics for thousands of years. And this wealth of knowledge was quickly put to use in Wuhan, China when the epidemic first occurred there. The success of those herbal protocols were carefully recorded and disseminated to the rest of China and to practitioners of Chinese medicine in the West.

Homeopathy has been treating epidemic diseases for 200 years. The successes of homeopathy in repeated epidemics of cholera, yellow fever, and the 1918 flu pandemic were carefully recorded and disseminated, and recognized by the governments of the world. Today homeopaths around the world are sharing their own successes with the virus.

Why are these successful treatments of epidemics and pandemics continually ignored by conventional medicine? Primarily because these treatments are inexpensive and not profitable to the pharmaceutical industry. Despite significant and suggestive research that shows the effectiveness of these, and other, natural treatments money is not pouring into further clinical studies. Instead the pharmaceutical industry is fiercely pursuing vaccines that can be patented and then reap huge profits.

However, vaccines have been dismally ineffective in preventing seasonal viral illnesses in the past, mostly because these viruses mutate and are then impervious to the vaccines. This has been the case year after year with the ineffective flu vaccines. And these vaccines that were rushed to market have also backfired and inevitably produce side effects, sometimes such serious side effects that the vaccine campaign needed to be halted.

We should all consider why preventive herbal and nutritional supplement measures are not adopted. We should keep on hand the simple natural treatments that successfully treat viral epidemics. It is time to stop waiting for the pharmaceutical industry to save us. Trust these time honored treatments. Study them.

Here is my article on a proactive, natural treatment plan for the virus.

The era of the hand sanitizer

Where’s the dirt?

Once upon a time, before the era of hand sanitizers and surgical masks (as long ago as 2019) doctors, and even the general public, believed that exposure to a wide range of bacteria was a good thing. There was even a name for this, the hygiene hypothesis. Exposure to dirt was seen as beneficial to create a strong immune system. Studies showed that children who lived on farms were healthier than their urban and suburban counterparts because of their exposure to farm animals and bacteria. Studies even suggested that washing dishes by hand was healthier than using an automatic dishwasher because more bacteria would persist on the dishes. Doctors discouraged the use of hand sanitizers and disinfectants. No more.

In our zeal to avoid exposure to a virus we have forgotten the protective function of the microbiome. However, it is still true that a wide ranging inner ecology of different bacteria is in fact beneficial to immune function. How can we maintain the microbiome in this disinfecting age?

  • Expose your family to dirt. Go outside in nature, tend a garden, go on hikes, encourage your children to play in the dirt. Since there are no organized sports, get your kids out of the house, shooting baskets, throwing a baseball, playing tennis, riding a scooter or skateboard.

  • Eat fermented foods: pickles, sauerkraut, kombucha, kimchee.

  • Take probiotic supplements.

Fortify the immune system

Protection from a virus involves more than masks and social distancing. Keep your immune system strong and resilient.

  • Get exercise.

  • Get adequate sleep.

  • Avoid weight gain that contributes to inflammation which in turn weakens the immune system.

  • There are benefits to the immune system from staying home. Many people have experienced a reduction in work stress. There is much less commuting and therefore much less pollution. The world has slowed down. Kids are actually reading books.

  • Of course, this is not to minimize the toll that the virus has taken. Many people are suffering from the loss of income and the uncertainty of their economic survival. And people have unfortunately died as a result of the virus with the accompanying stress of family grief. All the more reason to keep your immune system strong. Anxiety and fear has a weakening effect on immune function.

  • Take supplements that keep the immune system strong. Vitamin D, vitamin C, medicinal mushrooms, astragalus

Proactive Plan for the Pandemic

2020 April 4 by

Share

Here are my suggested measures for everyone to stay safe during this time of potential exposure to this current virus.

  1. Immune support

Take supplements that activate and support immune function. Here are some types of supplements I recommend: medicinal mushroom formulas, astragalus, probiotics, vitamin D. See my article about ordering specific supplements http://cure-guide.com/preventing-viruses/

Do not foster fear in yourself or others. Fear weakens the immune system. Practice generosity, kindness, and compassion. Meditate and be patient with one another.

  1. Physical protective measures

Wash your hands. Don’t touch your face when out in public. This virus does live on hard surfaces, so wash your hands or use a natural hand sanitizer frequently. Remember heat kills the virus, but cold does not.

  1. Discourage inflammation

Take supplements that inhibit a cytokine storm, the inflammatory reaction that can occur as a result of this virus. Here are suggested supplements that inhibit this inflammatory reaction: melatonin, quercetin, stinging nettle, green tea extract. An excellent formula is Immune Active by Metagenics or D-Hist Natural or D-Hist Jr chewable by Ortho Molecular.   Take vitamin C, and use garlic.

  1. Acute treatment

Stock some treatment formulas at home to take if you start to get viral symptoms (fever, acute congestion, or flulike achiness and tiredness). Keeping these available for use if needed may be wise. Then if you get symptoms, I am available to consult about the correct treatment. Remember that the symptoms of this virus fall into different stages and a different treatment regimen may be needed for each stage.

a. A Chinese herbal Yin Chiao formula or Gan Mao Ling for the first stage of colds and flus.

b. An elderberry/Echinacea formula such as Viracid by Ortho Molecular or Wellness Formula by Source           Naturals.

c. The homeopathic medicines that have proven effective for this virus are Sulphur, Phosphorus, Bryonia, Gelsemium, Arsenicum. Others may be indicated as well, depending on the particular symptom presentation.

If you come down with symptoms at this time, it is especially important to use the holistic treatments that fit the symptoms as the illness progresses. This will help to prevent and treat complications such as pneumonia. Consult your health care practitioner at the first sign of illness to manage this virus appropriately.

Preventing Viruses

Preventing Viruses

Many people are asking me what to do about preventing viruses. My first suggestion is do not look at media reports, news updates, Internet reports, or social media posts about pandemics and viruses. These purposely promote fear, which depletes your immune system. Do not go there. And do not take any vaccines for flu or other viruses. Take appropriate precautions against colds and other viruses such as hand washing with organic products. Get on with your life. Practice loving kindness and compassion. This will strengthen your immune system.

Support your family’s immune system with a healthy whole foods diet, rich in fruits and vegetables, and warm foods and soups in the winter. Eat fermented foods (natural pickles, sauerkraut, kombucha) that contain plentiful probiotics. Avoid processed, refined foods, and packaged products with added sugar, chemicals, and synthetic vitamins. Eat organic and non-GMO foods free of pesticides. You can also take some supplements to support your immune system. Here is what I recommend.

Immune Supplements

Take a vitamin D3 supplement, preferably one that also contains vitamin K2. Your immune system needs vitamin D, and in the colder months vitamin D levels in the body drop with reduced sun exposure. Adults need 5,000-10,000 IU of vitamin D per day, and children need at least 1,000 IU per 25 pounds of body weight.  Other immune system activators include astragalus and medicinal mushrooms. A probiotic formula will also help the immune defense system fight off pathogenic bacteria and viruses. Prebiotics are helpful as well.

All of these supplements are available through my website at this link:

https://wellevate.me/drrandy or call 1-855-935-5382.

  2. Simply enter in your information into the required fields.

  3. You’re ready to order!

Here are some brands I recommend, all available through my website:

Immunoberry liquid for children by Designs for Health (DFH)

Immunitone Plus capsules for adults (DFH)

Vitamin D3 with K supplements such as:

Vitamin D 10,000 capsules for adults by Metagenics

Excellent probiotic supplements are:

Orthobiotic powder for babies and young children by OrthoMolecular

Orthobiotic capsules for older children and adults by OrthoMolecular

UltraFlora Spectrum capsules by Metagenics

UltraFlora Synergy powder for children by Metagenics

Now just go stay healthy!
